To draw out the colour, steep your saffron thread in warm water, stock, milk or white wine for 30 minutes before use. You can then add the liquid to any dish, usually towards the end of cooking. Alternatively, mix a \u00bc teaspoon of saffron powder with 1 teaspoon of cooled, freshly boiled water in a small jar. Allow to brew in a warm place for 10-15 minutes.
